I've decided to sell my NFL XL website, here is the info:

It used to get around ~65 uniques average per day, but I stopped updating and stopped promoting it for the past month, since I was busy with another site I started up, so traffic has gone down a bit.

I haven't bought any adspace or anything, only advertising I've done is link exchanges, search engine submissions, and signature links/banners at a few forums. But with some good promoting and advertising, the site has a lot of potential.

Website is designed by me, it's not a free template, but custom made design by me. Also hand coded in XHTML & CSS by me as well. Clean code which is very easy to manage. Coded in all divs, only table is the scoreboard since it's tabular data.

The scoreboard on the site is updated manually. But the news posting and cut and wallpaper adding is done through a simple admin page I have set up where there's 3 different forms, one for news, one for cuts, and one for wallpapers. There is also a search featured which allows users to search through the news. All this is done in PHP & mySQL and is custom made by me so you won't find it on any other site. It's nothing special, but just letting you know it's not a free script or anything.

There is also a poll, but this one was a free poll script I got off a site and customized it.

The website has around 300 news posts, around 10 render cuts, and 11 wallpapers (which you will get the rights to).

The website takes up around 80 MB (most from the arcade games) and uses around 1.5 GB a month.

The website is #1 on Google, Yahoo!, and MSN for the term "NFL XL" and is also close to the top for the terms "NFL Wallpapers" and "NFL PSD Cuts"

There is also a forum (IPB 2.0.4), not much activity, but it has 90+ members and 1,500+ posts. The skin is just a slightly modified version of the default IPB skin to match the main site. The forum has a couple of add-ons installed. One of them is a store hack and the other is an arcade which already has around 50+ games installed. You won't get the IPB license, however you will get all the files for the forum.

Pretty funny that the contextual ads are for DNA tests on a site talking about football players

They should feed a bunch of DUI lawyer ads and similar also!

hahaha sorry - just struck me as funny Seriously, though, it looks like a very nice site and if I knew anything about football, I'd definitely think about it. Are the news articles RSS feeds or anything clever like that?

well its just a picture, we arent claiming it as our own or making any profit off the pictures, so i highly doubt its illegal or anything. and i've seen tons of sites (eg gaming sites with game characters, etc.) so i dont think that is an issue.

 

I know there are some very strict rules and the NFL are much tighter on image use than the gaming community is. Basically, by putting them on your site is saying that they endorse the content. It's a legal thing really and something that probably be ok, but I just wanted to check the situation before I put in a bid.
