How do you expect a company to react when you attempt to sell them their own trademark?

The only reason myspace has sent out C&D's to myspacesupport.com etc

Is because they place ads onto myspace.com and make revenue.

    And myspace dont like that.

My site does nothing like that, thats why i havnt got a C&D.

This is from Domains Magazine (they attribute the source as SearchEngineJournal)

It may be the case that there is a fine line to be drawn between what is acceptable and what is unacceptable use?

It's interesting that the two sites mentioned in the above cease and desist have apparently still to cease or desist and the Whois still gives the original owner, suggesting of course that a single-digit is being directed towards MySpace's C&D notice. I wonder how that will play out?

He actually wants to fight and he apperently wrote back saying that. I read this on the other forums and people disagreed with his actions but his win or lose in the end.

I had a chat with that guy and told him several times to just get hold of another domain and do a redirect. He insists on fighting and he says that he has talked with the director or president or something like that of myspace and is trying to negociate with them.

Total waste of time and money, Fox sure won't just let this go.

I for my part find the C&D rediculous for the following reason.

For example it would be rediculous as these companies build products and support that boost myspace use and awareness. True they make money off thier affiliate sites/selling smilies/ interfaces etc. Everyone wins in the end.

Then again every big corporation always want to monopolize on everything. Such is life :(

For instance look at myspaceadds.com which was a BIG Myspace related site. Myspace now owns the domain and is just directing to Myspace homepage

So you bought a script for $25, a domain 15 days ago, which if you bought at godaddy would be $9... so you're selling something worth $34 ... why do you think it's worth $100 ?
