I had a sale show up in my Clickbank account today that, to my knowledge, I don't have any sites with a hoplink for that product. I do have Clickbank HopAds on one of my sites and I'm wondering if it could have come from there. I've never had a sale from Clickbank ads before and not even sure how it would show up in my sales statistics. It has a really long tracking ID on it which is the full name of the book. Is that perhaps a TID that would be reflected if the sale came through one of the Clickbank ads? Not that I'm complaining about the sale, but if there's been a tracking mistake, I don't want to get credit for someone else's commission. Does anyone know whether a sale received from a Clickbank ad would have a TID like this on it? Thanks
It may be people using some gravity manipulation script. The vendor tries to increase his products gravity so he randomly scrapes affiliate id's and replaces them when a visitor hits the page. Nice surprise sales though.
Thanks for the reply. I've never heard of that before. Interesting. I noticed I got a few hops on it a couple of days before also. Guess I should just be thankful and not question it. Thanks again.
This one is a new one for me, too. I've never had it happen. Looks to me like the vendor would just open a second account and refer his/her own product. What am I missing here? I'm like you, lynda - guess I wouldn't look a gift horse in the mouth for too long. LOL
