Selling Sale: Custom made social dating website, with distance search

Custom coded Social Dating site for sale.
Please remember that I did not install a free dating script on a domain. I got this coded because I had a complete business planned around this website. It's a mix of social network and dating website.
Figuring out how I'll promote the website using free methods was the first priority, which is mentioned below. Once this was planned and researched, I went ahead and got the website coded. However, I'm caught up with a different project now and I'm not getting the time to implement my plan as I thought. This is why I'm selling the website.

Domain is pronounceable and is made of just 2 english words i.e. "torch Flash", which is also a common phrase.

Basic Features:

1. Distance search between 2 members. (logged in member and the profile they are browsing)

2. Ability to post messages like on twitter ( "what's on" ).
These messages are seen by all members who are following you. They can retweet (called "Flash it"), and then their followers see this message too.
Members can also "bury" the message ( called "Torch and burn it" ).

3. Ability to attach a picture in the "What's on" post.

4. Ability to post a url in "what's on" post. The URL becomes a link on the fly.

5. Display of most popular "posts" on homepage.

Member Features:
1. Ability to follow/unfollow other members. (called Admire/unAdmire)

2. Edit profile and specify current location.

3. Upload a profile image. (automatically resized)

4. Upload and share more photos using the "what's on" post feature.

5. Private messaging system.


When members log in, they go to their profile page automatically.
If a logged in member leaves the site and comes back, they are automatically redirected to their own profile page.
This is the page where he/she will see all posts made by those he follow, much like twitter and facebook.

Search Features based on:

1. search member by name

2. Search members "who I follow"

3. Search members "who follow me".

4. Search members by gender

5. Search members based on keywords they added in their profile. (called: "What do you post about")

Admin Features:
There's a basic admin panel where you can activate/deactivate members, set members as MODS etc.

If you need admin functionality extended, it can be arranged separately for a small fee.

Some free promotion ideas:

1. I know of a niche on youtube where most videos are getting viewed over 500,000 times and reaching upto a million views. These numbers are for 6 months to an year.
If you want I will share the search keyword with you and provide you a few videos to use.
A video that got viewed 500,000 times (keeping it to minimum). I think that by following a description link and the "caption" (youtube's new feature where you can display a caption on the video itself), you might be able to get about 5000 or 10,000 registrations from a video.
That's calculations based on 1% success rate from 1 video. These numbers can be much bigger with 5-6 videos.

Seeing the growth and income potential was the main reason I coded this website and gave it a dating spin. But now I'm involved in a different project and not able to find any time for this dating website. It has a very high potential and letting it die will be a waste, which is why I thought I'll sell it.

The coding part is complete, but the design can take a makeover.

2. You can post some videos on youtube where individuals say some good things about the dating website. Much like a video testimonial.
I think I read on forums somewhere that a member of the forum is getting about 400 or more registrations per day using this method. That's 12,000 members a month.
He posted about 30 such videos.
Although he was a reputed member, I cannot verify those claims. However, even if it's half that number, still 6000 members is not bad for a dating website.

3. Something similar can be done on facebook, pinterest and other image sharing sites.
I haven't checked those youtube keywords on such websites, but I'm certain that results will be similar.

I think it's my duty to point out that you might have to pull off some tricks like targetting niches on youtube in order to get the site running initially. You might also have to create some accounts yourself on the website to make it look fuller. I might be able to help you with this ( beautiful pictures of people and profile text etc, for a small fee).
I think about 20-30 accounts like these will be enough.
Once you have about 5000 members or so from youtube and other promotion methods, I think the site will take it's course and will have a snowball effect.

Income methods andpotential:

Currently you can place some ads on the website, but at a later stage you can get paid for subscriptions where members pay to get more features unlocked.

The income potential of a website like this can be huge. You can imagine the income potential with 10,000 members registering on the website every month, on an average.

Payment will be via paypal, and I'll help you install if you provide me FTP and CPanel (to make a database). If you do not wish to provide CPanel access, please make the database and give me the following info:
Username of database, Password of database, host of database, Name of database.
You need to use a linux server with php and mysql.

Getting the script custom coded costed me about 300USD and I'm hoping to get my investment back. If I can get some small profit, that will make me very happy!

 

Maybe you should have used a Wordpress theme, it would have looked better and been MUCH cheaper.

 

MattSayle, I could have used wordpress, but it's not a blog. Also I thought it'd get difficult to customize WP into a mix of social and dating website. Much like twitter and a dating website put together.
This website is similar in functionality and provides additional features like Distance search between members, advanced search...
I agree that it might have looked better with a WP premium theme, but I could pay anyone $50 to make a similar theme. Plus I'd avoid all the security problems that come with WP.

I did not get a better theme because I got too involved in other projects and this website got sent back in the priority list.
