I have found a domain I like a lot, what is the safest way of transaction to ensure that after I paid, I will be given the domain and not get cheated out of it?

Simple, use one of popular and well known domain registers, they will not cheat you for sure. Search around to see what register is most profesional, i will say godaddy.

Register via most known registers like namecheap.com, name.com, godaddy.com, and when you pay fee for registration immediately you can use your domain.

i think he was saying that he found the domain at someone and he will buy it from that person. best thing to do is a couple of money upfront and the rest after domain is transfered. really simple ;)

just ask the seller some questions, if they are from a forum then look for feedback ratings & history etc. Just be careful & use common sense. If it is for an expensive domain then use a middleman company like Escrow.

you should pay around 20% upfront. depends how he requests. 20% is a good proof you have money and all the rest after he'll push the domain to you. also, if something weird happens, you could complain to paypal and you'll get your money back.

Well, the safest way is to use a domain name escrow service. There are a number of reputable ones around, and it protects both the buyer and seller. It may cost some money, but it's worth it for an expensive domain...

Escrow is the ONLY way to go when dealing with someone you don't know. It is in YOUR best interests AND THEIRS.

    Escrow.com
    Moniker.com
    Sedo.com
    iMonetize.com
all offer domain escrow services and are truthworthy middlemen.
