safest way to allow others access of my dashboard

I am getting help from someone with my website and they asked if I could make them an account so they could seee what plugins and things I have. I was wondering if it is safe to let this happen and what would I make them. I looked and an editor is the next level down. If I made them an editor could then delete all my stuff and crash my site. I don't want to get scammed or lose my site. Any help would be appreciated. Thansk

What does your gut feeling tell you?

Have you built up a relationship and does it feel right.

B4 you even look at whether it is safe and what way to add anyone these are things you should have a feel for and already part know for yourself.

IF you trust them let them have admin access.. backup all your data first and once they have done the work change the password. IF you don't trust them don't give them access. :).

Why exactly do you want to let them see it?

Its not a good idea in general unless you really trust them... but realistically they wont be able to do any harm unless they are a good hacker.

I would add them as an "Author" just to be on the safe side.

If you give them access as admin.. they don't need to be a "good hacker".. because any person could easily break the site in seconds. So that is complete rubbish what you just said!

    Ummmm no it isnt!

If you give someone access to admin - AS AN AUTHOR - all they can do is add posts and adjust their own profile information.

Learn your stuff before you call something rubbish.

There are many different ways to exploit WordPress sites - depending on what version of WordPress you have installed - but as long as you are up to date WordPress is relatively secure.

You have to create another user from the Admin of WordPress.
