safe to unlink cancled adwords account?

I hear it's bad to have multiple accounts if they're not linked. if one account is canceled, am I allowed to unlink it from my mcc or should I leave it?

 

It's not just bad - it's a violation of Google's terms and could get you banned.

 

I am not sure if it violates their policies. Unless you open new accounts for redeeming coupon codes I dont think Google will have problem with having multiple adword accounts
