Sure it would. Imagine how much Coke would pay to show Saddam drinking Pepsi on TV with a slogan "drink Coke, because terrorists love Pepsi".

The defence will try to buy time. Going to be boring, I guess.

Well, if he gets a life sentence, then still he would have a comfortable life in his palace prison.

There are millions of people in the world that would love to change their freedom with Saddams prison

I wonder what is going on in the guy's mind. I mean, does he have any regrets? It'll be interesting to see the trial and I hope they will put him on the stand. Just like we're using convicted serial killers for studies, it'll give us some sort of insight into the mindset of a dictator. Coming to think of it, he was a serial killer. Only difference to some whacko in the US would be that he was the law and didn't break the law of his own country because he could do what he wanted. Sure, there will be a lot of long drawn speeches, but how about behind the scenes on the streets. I'm sure that security warnings will come once the trial gets heated. Muslim extremists are likely to take offense to him being subjected to international law. I know that I'll be watching. Might as well, it'll be O.J. all over, but with a better ending I'm sure

My bet is that Saddam will be rather dead before the end of the year.

BTW, have you ever seen more unprofessional trial? How can they allow to show judges on TV???
