Saddam's "hanging", a conspiracy?

So Saddam was sentenced to death by hanging. Everybody knows that, right? Well, if I'm not mistaken, now Saddam is calling upon his followers to not take revenge on the foreign invaders, correct?

Here's what I think. The USA made a deal with Saddam to get his people to stop killing American troops in exchange for sparing his life. Why else would he be doing this? If I were him, I'd probably be cursing and shouting for my people to avenge my death! :p

    Anyone else have some thoughts?

yea that is one way to think about what is happening
or he could be trying to make it look like he wants peace as he is not goting to get back into power and so when he does hang he will be classed as a martyr by his followers and others

It's amazing how nice people become when they're about to face their maker. Maybe, like many people in his position, he's realized what a douche he was and he'd like to avoid going to hell.

The fact that there weren't riots indicates that he's pretty irrelavent. What would the terrorists gain by having him in power? They think they're doing a fine job without him and they've certainly killed a lot more people with him out of the picture. He was never on their side.

All this trial shows is that nobody cares about him. He'll hang like a common criminal and the next day will come.

Like lots of things, there's an element of conspiracy behind this. And to be honest, I wouldn't be surprised if the US made a deal or whatever.

But I think the terrorists are out of Saddam's control, and by just ordering them to stop won't solve anything. So there would be no need to make a deal. He isn't going down entirely without a fight, he did say that he doesn't want to hang but to be shot.

Anyway I don't think there's anything shifty about this, he'll be killed, final.

At this point I think Saddam has zero control of the insurgents. Saddam or not they are going to try and force out the occupiers.
