ok, so I'm more of a lurker who has given a couple good freebies to this forum and have more to give. BUT even though I have been a good standing member since Joined:Nov 18, 2007 there are new requirements ... an established member 48 hours after you register AND 3 different existing established members "Like" something you wrote (asking users publicly or privately for "Likes" will get you banned). and since this new member status requirement change no one has "liked" my posts, so I do not have established member status. I can not post any more freebies for the community and I can't even ask for a couple likes on the freebies pages cause I will be banned LOL how sad is that ... grandfathering in us "old timers" might have been nice. Been here over 5 years, geesh, but not established, so so sad thanks for letting me rant
well, I just went and made some "useful" posts that have been long over due by me, we'll see what happens ... hopefully someone will like my input
ok, I had put this post under General Chat where I can talk about ANYTHING I want ... it was a rant, not a suggestion or feedback and now I get a "Thread Started In Wrong Category" warning hence why I am more of a lurker than a poster, it is way to easy for me to get in trouble LOL now where are the warnings explained ... how long do they last, what will cause a ban temporary and or permanent? anyone know? PS: I just saw it expires May 18, 2013 at 3:40 PM
Go to your profile and there is a warnings' tab: https://forums.digitalpoint.com/members/mrsray.116491/ It will have the expiry date.
i"m a member since 2008 and i wasn't in established zone members, but that was fine with me because i wasn't much active for four years, about 200 message only, so it's like two minutes in our daily time what i mean: i'm a member since 1460 days and i only have 200 messages, when i look at it in this way i don't deserve to be an established members, but since you want to give something you'll get so many "likes" soon.
Don't worry about warnings too much. They are just a warning (unless you get ten points). You can always post in suggestions & feedback asking "where" if you're not sure and think it could be one of three, for example.
OH BOY ... wooo hooo, got it!!!! Welcome To The Establishment You have been a member for at least 48 hours and three different users have liked something you wrote. You can now do a lot more things on the site. Thanks everyone for all your help!
It's always gratifying to see a member post a thread about not having the required 3 likes, then watching them get them as the thread progresses. This has happened a few times, glad it all worked out for you.
Does my being a lurking member for almost 18 months also qualify for some grandfathered like love? I'm not begging, but I cordially invite established members to look at my past comments and see if there's something they think has value.
Your logic is flawed. The time you've been registered on the forum has nothing to do with being an established member. I would hardly call making 140 posts since 2007 contributing to the forum. I am sick and tired of how everyone expects everything handed to them on a silver platter.
