Up for sale is my Symbian Cert & Key site.

Symbian phones (3rd & 5th) are locked from the factory as the source code for the operating system isnt open source therefore is "locked"

If a user of a Symbian phone ever goes on to a mobile forum to download games, applications etc etc, they wont be able to install the downloaded application unless their phone is unlocked via the means of a Cert & Key to grant them full access rights and this is what my site does.

Users enter their IMEI number and the system generates a cert and key for that particular phone. The unique aspect of my site is that unlike "phone unlocking" there is literally only a handfull of these sites around due to it being so difficult to obtain a license to be able to generate certs and keys.

Licenses are generally only granted to users that create applications, however as soon as that particular user starts giving out free certs and keys, they have their licence revoked and thats the end of that. With my site, the certs and keys are encrypted as to not be read by in notepad++ etc. Also the site saves $$$$ every year as it piggy-backs off another site to generate the certs and keys therefore never has a problem when it comes to obtaining licenses.

The site is completly automated and does everything from start to finish. Users enter their IMEI number, and the custom built scripts send out all IMEI's at interval times, and retrieves certs and keys at the same time. All certs and keys are generally done within 24hrs at a max though can be quicker at times.

Since the site launched, we have had just over 171,000 members use our free service so there is scope for promotion with the database too.

Monetization on this site hasnt been my best point. At the start the site used to recieve about $200 per month in donations. I then added the Pinball toolbar after a few months though earnings were slighly lower and donations went down. The toolbar has since been removed (as of Aug 09) as it didnt pay for alot of countries that the site got traffic from.

The site generates £60+ ($100) per month from Google adsense though i feel the site could be monetized ALOT better in the right hands.

This must be the only site ive ever had that has had 0 SEO work done on it. This is down to the site being rather viral, and is mentioned on ALOT of forums, blogs, etc etc. Most of our traffic is through referalls and has been since day 1 when the service launched on the 1st Aug 2009.

Traffic can vary from anything up to 5000 hits per day, though generally the site gets 1500 hits per day, and has never really gone below that number, though has gone higher when one of the other handful of sites that offer the same service goes down.

If someone can tell me how to upload analytics im happy to do so but for now here are the last 30 days stats.

Hey whats the revenue like?

 

Currently the site is generating £50+ per month through the little adsense it has. (This month is currently at £45.11)

Donations are very quiet atm, used to be around $200 per month, when traffic from Italy was high.(For some reason, 90% of our donations came from the Italians)

Traffic was up 49.25% yesterday (25th) as opposed to the (24th) so im assuming OPDA has gone offline. Infact having a look, they have (http://cer.opda.cn/en/)

Everytime one of the very few competion sites goes offline due to license issues our traffic can go crazy as atm.

Paypal donations are tricking in, just not like they once was. Have attached pic but have deleted names for privacy of members obvioulsy.

1. Alexa was 480,208 at start of this post. It is now 419,379
2. Still 100% automated, no SEO needed EVER
3. Unique site. Not many offering this service worldwide! Go and check
4. Revenue up. May 2010 earned £235 (Yes £) - This month so far (Not even a week in!) £130. This is just through adsense. Donations are on top, though track of that has not been kept as it has been used for steam games lol. Proof can be shown to serious buyers of earnings.

5. Up from 170,000 members to over 220,000 members. That's an average of 10,000 registered members per month with no work required.

6. Sale price as a result is not the same as before. Will take serious offers. If no response, ill be back when we are at 1/4 million members
