S&A Infraction Query

    I just got infraction for Solicitation.
    Yes, you heard me right, for Solicitation in Solicitations and Announcements Forum

    All I did is made Public Comment to Directory owner and told him that he owns excellent directory and that we will be pleased to include his directory into our hand picked Directory of Directories List.

    Should I remind to Mod who gave me infraction that he is moderating

    Yep. Mikey posted his directory in a thread and you replied by hijacking his thread with
    He was trying to get submissions to his directory... not yours. Start your own thread or put it in a private message.

    - Hijacking could occur only if I encourage others to ignore Mikey's directory and to use our instead
    - Telling to somebody that they have outstanding directory is not hijacking thread.
    - Telling to somebody that they are good enough to be listed in exclusive list is not hijacking thread.
    - Offering inclusion in directory where others can only dream to be listed is not hijacking thread but emphasizing to readers of Mikey's thread high respect to site owner by someone who knows what he is talking about.
    - My post is not by any stretch of imagination would change outcome for people who open Mikey's thread because they are interested in Health directory in a first place and not in DoD.

    BTW, sending solicitations via PM constitutes spamming in this Forums.
    But if you're saying I should PM my remarks instead, I will assume that you know what you are talking about and because according to you it's okay to spam members with solicitations, I will take your advise and do that next time

    No it's not ok to spam members for solicitations but if you said

    Hi mikey1090, I saw your thread [url here] promoting your directory and I'd like to invite you to submit it to my directory blah blah

    then that's not spam is it?

    Better still, why not just add it and tell him that you've added it? Oh I know, you want his email address.
