I have been working on an site for an RV dealership and I've been trying to optimize it for SEO so that the site will at least rank in google for any of the keywords I've been aiming at. I've start link building and I'm very new to the concept. I've been submitting to a ton of directories but from what I understand they are not very useful. I am trying to find sites in my niche (IE. RVing and Camping) but it's hard to find anywhere to get links like that. Forums and blog comments seem to be controversial if they are of any real use. It would feel like spamming if I attempted that kind of link building no matter how constructive I try to make my posts. Would anyone be able to give me some solid advice on this. I would greatly appreciate it.
Hi, I just typed in Google search "rv+forums" and got over 2 million results for RVs and caravaning. Or go to http://comluv.com and type in RV in search, then it will dispaly alot of sites that have the comment luv plugin installed, this allows you to put your anchor text as dave@keyword and link it to your site.
@geester1: You are mistaking commentluv plugin with KeywordLuv !! @defessler: You can try article submissions too.. If you find RV blogs, you might want to request them for a guest post too.
I was under the impression from reading the posts in this forum that blog comments and forum postings were not really the best way to go about link building. Is taking that approach worth the time? I found a post that recommended using
I have wedorv.com where you can get a yearly link for 10 buck (right side - sitewide) of free if reciprocical... Let me know if you are interested.
Um, some thing strange then as I have been entering name@keyword on www.comluv.com sites and I am getting backlinks, using my anchor text...
If it is a new domain and you are starting out linkbuilding, the best bet is forums and blogs for this topic, why not try BBQ forums as it is all about "the great outdoors", I added one of my sites to a BBQ site for outdoor TVs and my site rose in the serps, the common link being outdoors. Then try writing a few articles and approaching blog owners of related topics if they would consider publishing you article with 1 link back to your site, more often than not in my experience they will give you 2 links. Avoid press releases unless the site has had some serious link building.
The site is about 6 years old. It has about 150ish backlinks already. We just started optimizing it about 3 months ago. I appreciate all the responses. I'm researching and adding backlinks anywhere I can get them.
