MOSCOW - The Russian military has successfully tested what it described as the world's most powerful non-nuclear air-delivered bomb, Russia's state television reported Tuesday.

...........Channel One television said the new weapon, nicknamed the "dad of all bombs" is four times more powerful than the U.S. "mother of all bombs."........Channel One said that while the Russian bomb contains 7.8 tons of high explosives compared to more than 8 tons of explosives in the U.S. bomb, it's four times more powerful because it uses a new, highly efficient type of explosives that the report didn't identify.

While the U.S. bomb is equivalent to 11 tons of TNT, the Russian one is equivalent to 44 tons of regular explosives. The Russian weapon's blast radius is 990 feet, twice as big as that of the U.S. design, the report said.....

US is pushing her dominance all over the world, and the Russians don't like to be squeezed . So the result is arms race again ...

I hope this finally gathers some attention... A lot of other things flew too far under the radar...

Remember when China shot down the satellite? We've been pissing off a large chunk of the world for a while, and everyone wants to be #1... It was only a matter of time before they start trying to show military mite...

Actually, it says it was dropped from a "stragetic bomber" (from the article)...

    And..
This is one of the aspects of the Clinton era that I didn't like; decreasing our military... We should be leading the world in all military aspects... Any competitive person knows that it's easier (sometimes) to get to number 1, then it is to stay at number 1...

Anyways, if I don't end the post now I'll start ranting for pages...

I looked at some other articles...what they were showing on the news this morning was a cargo plane, but articles are saying that a TU-160 (similar to a B-1 Bomber) was used...however, there are about 8 versions of that plane and Russia only has 16 currently in service...which means that only 16 would be able to carry that heavy of a payload...to me, this is not really that big of a stretch, Russia has a really big bomb that it can't really get anywhere. But who knows, maybe they have upgraded the TU-160 to be able to handle it better, be more stealth like (it is not a stealth plane), and get better fuel mileage (these planes need almost constant in-air refueling).

The largest nuke ever detonated (again by the russians) had the power of 50 Megatons

In other words more than 1 million times more powerful than this bomb. Kind of makes it pretty irrelivant don't you think.

I liked that part too... I know what they mean, referring to nuclear fallout... But I'm pretty sure the living creatures that get turned into dust would disagree with the statemtent "doesn't harm nature"...

Now some big corporations in US will try to pass the Russians by making even more powerful one.
Of course we'll pay the ticket for that.

The winners in this Iraqi war are the Oil producing countries and corporations and some private US corporations like Halliburton, black water end etc. ...
    Guess who foots the bill?

In addition Osama will look the winner as well. He really puts some reason in his speeches which are meaningful to many muslims. He portrays muslims as victims of Israel and US policies. And now this war in Iraq in the eyes of the muslims is totally wrong ..... and not only in the eyes of the muslims.

To win this war on terror we need to change our policies towards not only the muslims, but to everyone US deals with.
It is called 'FAIR DEALINGS' with everyone and obeying the international law.
You can't be a law breaker and expect respect right? Say you drive your car and don't stop on stop signs and red lights but continue driving like everyone should give the right of way don't you think you'll get in an accident even if you driving a tank?

Let's face the truth we are not winning the war on terror. There is no hunt for Osama, Pakistan is a save heaven for Islamic extremists who are trying to remove Musharaff. Thousands of 18 year old American men have been lost in Iraq. Too many things are going very bad with this "war on terror".
On top of all this, this admin wants to build antimissile shield in Europe (which even the Europeans don't want) annoying the Russians who feel they are pushed around by US.

Its fair game, they have just as much right as any other country i see them creating this bomb no different than if anyone else had created it, Russia aren't a threat.
