For those that don't know Golf, the premier golf event the Ryder Cup is coming to Ireland this week/weekend. Its only a couple of miles from where I live and although I knew I couldn't watch it in person (Bill Clinton took my place) because like the Superbowl in the US its a status symbol for people who know nothing about golf, I still planned to watch it. Anyway, I was planning on sitting back and enjoying the action from my own home. Come to find out that despite it being palyed here in Ireland, we can't actually watch it. Rupert Murdoch bought out the exclusive rights and is only broadcasting it on his subscription channel. It annoys me royaly as Sky is so crap that you can't instantly subscribe in Ireland (like every other cable/sattelite company in the world). So this means I have to put up with a couple hundred thousand tourists, traffic in every direction, helicopters constantly filling the sky (apparently we have the most per capita) and I can't even watch the stupid thing Rupert Murdoch sucks
Wouldn't miss it for the world. Don't have Sky at the minute but the plan is to play a quick 18 on Saturday and Sunday morning and watch the golf all afternoon. Even booked a buggy to make sure we finish in good time.
Oh, man, that blows, yfs1. Any pubs showing it (I used to watch the Premier League at Fado, the place I worked in the States - don't know if golf gets the same coverage)?
Come over to mine and watch it, since I got my 42" plasma I watch every sporting event going, even bowls looks good on it
