Running Google Web Optimizer on Wordpress

    I have set up Google Web Optimizer on my Wordpress site but have run into some trouble on the multi variant testing.

    When I get to step 3 - Creating variations; I add the

    <script>utmx_section("Top Table")</script>

    My Content

    </noscript>
    Code (markup):
    This is fine only that it seems to add a paragraph break to my page where the script starts and ends. There is clearly more space between page elements than there was before.

    I looked at the the element code in the web optimizer and a </p> tag shows up before the element <p> tag is present after the element.

    Those of you who have used the web optimizer know that the original code cannot be edited from the web optimizer.

    Anyone any ideas why or how to stop the google web optimizer script from adding a paragraph tag beofre or after the page element I am trying to run tests on?

    Thanks.

    Hope this is the correct forum.

    You shouldn't run any google analytics on your site. This just gives them a closer inside look at your blog and if you are doing any kind of affiliate marketing of any sort they will see it and mark your blog down in the rankings. The SEO experts have done analysis of different sites, ones with analytics and one without and the ones with tend to get deindexed much quicker!
    So be very careful teaming up with google that way.

    Interesting statement Cindy.
    Have you any backup or data showing this?

    My info comes from Greg Jacobs - owner of the Mage program. He has been in internet marketing for years and developed an automated version of what he used to do manually. He tested sites using google analytics and ones that didn't and the the % of sites that got deindexed was much higher using analytics than not.
    You are giving google permission to spy on your every move basically. Personally, I just want them to rank my site - not know my every move.
    There are a lot of analytics programs out there. Why take the chance and go with google is my thinking.
