Running an article directory

I was thinking of opening a new article directory as an addition to the webmaster network Im building but I thought I'd post here and get some comments from webmasters who already run article directories first.

So I have a few questions (these will depend on your article site of course)

Do you get good traffic from your dir?
    Much SPAM?
Make much from Adsense or other progs?
How much time do you spend on it per day?

Any other comments you wanna make? I've already checked out scripts etc and skinning/config/ etc looks pretty easy.

Also, if you do run a article dir check out my list. If you dir is not there please add it. Thanks.

So yeah, any comments about running an article dir would be appreciated :)

I'm running www.articleshouse.com since the beginning of the year.

Do you get good traffic from your dir?
I get about 60/70 unique visitors per day without doing much advertising. I get around 20 new articles per day.

    Much SPAM?
I get about one spam for 10 aticles submitted.

Make much from Adsense or other progs?
I don't get anything from Adsense. Most of my money is coming from text advertising and banners.

How much time do you spend on it per day?
About 10 minutes per day now but much more at the beginning.

    It's going to come down to;

    1. quality of the articles (depends on the editor)
    2. how original are the articles (not very, unless you work with a group of trusted /hired authors )
    3. promotion of the directory (allowing your articles more of a chance to be served up over your competition, espcially the one's that may be subject to duplicate content filters from being syndicated on several sites like yours)

IMO, creating another Article Directory that accepts all articles in a mad hungry dash to collect adsense revenue is not going to make the web better (unless you can put some original twist on this theme or have your own in-house authors writing about a niche topic) but good luck!

I run ArticleTrader.com, and so far the traffic is pickup really good, I'm actually ranking at around 17k on alexa.

I get around 80 submissions per day, so it does take a bit of work, but nothing too much.
I dont make much from the adsense (they are not even on every page), but it actually pays quite good per click. (better than some of my other sites)
