I know that pr is updated externally every few months, but how long does it take to get from zero to let's say 4? Example, My site has been up since March, now at the end of summer, I've got a PR3, and some internal links have PR4 and PR5. Ok, is three months how long it takes? I take it that the PR3 is no big deal, basically I'm not banned from the Goog, and they deep crawl my site about every two weeks (from my awstats reports) but is this about normal, or should I be happy about it?
honestly, i have no idea. but my personal blog site (via blogger) is a 2 year old site and it has a PR of 3. i guess it takes months and years to earn one. and make sure your site is not spammy.
Hmm..interesting. I heard that Google puts the new sites into a sandbox just to check if its worth putting up in its SERPs.
that's wicked! i got my contest entry a PR4 after a month. but sad to say, due to lack of link building efforts, my site's so down in SERPS.
It really depends on how many links you have to your website, that have been archived by google. When google updates their PageRank, they measure your PageRank based on the number of links (that are in their database) that you have pointing to your website when they do the update. Bill Platt
i somewhat agree. my entry is only been up for 1 month and it has already a PR of 4, more than my 2 year personal site... it's kind of befuddling... google must really have a very complex algo structure.
