Rules on 2 sites paying for same keyword

If i understand correctly, a company which owns 2 websites cannot have both websites showing on adwords for the same keyword/phrase? Presumably this is to prevent a company being able to occupy the top listings by using multiple sites.

What I would like to know is that if Company A advertises under keyword A, could Company B (which has a website sponsored by Company A) also be listed under keyword A? Or would this be treated in the same way as if both sites were owned by the same company?

    Hope that makes sense :)

    I've got this problem too.

I have talked to GG about it, and they suggested I set up a 'My Client Center' - and treat each of my websites like a different client (similar to what an agency with multiple website marketing customers would do).

NOTE - I was told this about 1 year ago and haven't got around to it yet - I have very little overlap between websites so it wasn't too big a deal for me.
