    Hey guys,

I'm going to begin manually adding e-mail addresses onto my mailing list from people I've met at local events.

Are there any spam laws/regulations out there I need to be aware of these days? Everyone added, I've personally met.

Although you have met these people unless they have agreed to receive information from you you will probably be breaking laws if you just add them to a list and start sending them information they have not asked for. It is so easy to get your reputation tarnished as a spammer that it is not worth it for the sake of adding names to your list. If you are personally networking and talking about your business why don't you add a weblink to your business card that invites people to opt-in online for your information; rather than just adding them without checking first.
    Best wishes
