Hello I'd just like to aske the experienced webmasters about the value of RSS in drawing traffic to one's website. How good is RSS at that? I don't remember having read about RSS in those "website marketing tips". Why would that be? (bad memory ? ) Does RSS help in SEO, just like any other link pointed to a website/page? I suppose that one condition in using RSS with success is to add many new articles or links on a daily or more frequently basis. Is it so? Could anyone tell what are the good/bad parts of RSS? Thanks!
If you have the ability to create an RSS feed, then its probably going to be worth it. As you described, you get the benefit of incoming links which will raise your SE status, and you will also hopefully draw in some visitors. The down side? Impossible to keep it from being used by some blackhats to help them create some sites using your RSS feed as content. Doesn't hurt you any. It's just annoying.
"BlackHats" will use it as long as it does the job. From your POV, if you can keep the feed updated with original, high quality content - it will be of massive benefit (You *really* need at least a post, maybe two a day though).
Ok, I got it: work, work and then again work, while RSS-ing this work - that must be the secret of success. Thanks!
