/rss/index.php vs /rss.php

    should I make a separate rss folder to put my rss file in or should I just put a rss.php file in my main directory?

    Are there any conventions for this that I should follow?

    Right.
    put rss.php to folder you want to generate rss feeds.

    You can really do what you like, sometimes I use /rss/index.xml, /rss/news.xml, /xml/news.rss, /news.rss... Pick anything that looks cool i guess
