RSS, good or evil?

I have just done a search in Yahoo siteexplorer for a relatively new article on my site and I have seen 28 inbound links.
All of them are exlusively from Spam sites aggregating my feeds (looks like traffic equalizer or something like that).
I have mixed feelings about this.
On the one hand I have 28 instant links (almost all from .info). On the other hand I get content stolen. But then again its just the firs paragraph anyways.

What do you think? I don't think there will be any penalty from Google to me, since there is a zillion of those sites aggregating almost eveyone's feeds.

    Here is an example:
    [nourl]http://speed-up-search.info/television.htm[/nourl]
    (I changed the subject)
The script is pretty intelligent, as it generates an infinite number of pages on the fly from RSS (probably scraped from a search)

The problem is nor RSS at all but a hijacking script that irrelevant spam sites run.

I found myself linked to sites porn-related which has nothing to do with the content of my site, and I have not an RSS feed live.

I think in that case its RSS (I can see the entry from my feed).
    The question remains:
Should I worry about this? (somehow it doesn't show feeds right now, but usually there are some below all the ads)

    Endre75,

If the use of your RSS feed (which is not scraping BTW, its formatted for syndication as the acronym suggests) annoys you, you should consider emailing the domain owners to ask that they dont do it.

On the other hand, if its just the first paragraph, its likely your content enters a random mix designed to generate a unique page (typical aggregation practice), which could work well for you from a linking perspective (although do remember that Yahoo ignores the rel=nofollow element and you may not be receiving the Google link love the serps imply)..

The best thing to do is make your objections known to these folk by publishing a copyright statement in the feed itself, then perhaps via email.

If you want the IBLs however, its all good. At least now you have several free channels through which to introduce your IBLs of choice.

    Good luck.

    Thanks a bunch John.
It would probably be worth trying to find out if the launder the links from the feeds (i think they do, since I don't see the digg links).
How do you feel about rewriting the rss for those sites to better suit my own needs?
I could try to pass a lot more links, link to a different site that I want indexed or do whatever else with it?
I am not sure if its worth it, but it may be worth a shot?

If you already know it is your ROSS what is propitiating such linkage, I believe it worth a try linking to a different site.

Thanks everyone. It pretty much confirms what I thought already.
I will probably explore some redirecting options (creating a "special" feed).

No RSS is in XML format. Those sites syndicate it and convert it into html to display it on their pages.
