today I installed RSS for my vb forums.my forum has 350 sections.
I have 10k daily visitors.now all sections have rss and also there is one
for all sections.my forums talks about health and medical issues.there
are not no medical forum better than me in my country.

I don`t know about advantages or disadvantages of rss.do you think
it is good for my forum? does it helps for progressing my forum?
or maybe I will have some problems at future ?

It can't hurt. Put adsense RSS feeds in it and you can make some extra cash. No disadvantages that I can think of.

As Scotty has stated there's no harm in having them, some members like rss feeds anyway.

    thanks all

As I said before i have 350 sections.some are active and some are not(most of them) and may be there is not any post all days on the inactive forums. then do you think setting rss for feeding only for last day is good?

my worriness for rss is maybe someones copy my threads on their forums. one time one site copied all my threads by using a hack.

In your yahoo site explorer control panel, you can submit those RSS feeds and they will act like a site map. This will allow Yahoo to index more of your pages.

You could do the same thing with your google webmaster tools, but for some reason, google does not like the vbulletin RSS feed. When you submit the vbulletin RSS feed, google webmaster tools rejects it and says its a video sitemap,,, or something like that.

If you have a myspace, you could import your forums RSS feed to display the recent forum post on your myspace page. You could do the same thing with facebook, but facebook does not like feeds that update all the time.

forum systems have caching mechanism as far as I can remember. which makes sure that performance doesn't get much hindered generating feeds too many times.
its a good idea having it.

Only few people know about rss. webmasters use rss. you can put a footerlink in every rss feed so that you can get links if ever someone scrapes your forum content
