if people subscribe to your rss feed they are notified via a rss reader when you have new post to your blog

RSS stands for "really simple syndication". It allows other sites to use your content by plugging in your RSS feed. It also allows individuals to read lots of content from one main location, i.e. Yahoo Feeds, or even via email.

Do a Google search on RSS feeds and get a quick tutorial on how they can help you do business. You will find that there are many ways to take advantage of using RSS feeds.

RSS feeds are also an amazing way to get tons of back links and traffic to your website.

There are many advanced techniques using RSS feeds and SEO that you can research on the Internet.

I even go so far as to create the feeds of many feeds and submit those to create tons of back links.
As an example you could set up an account on youtube, find out what the RSS feed is for your channel and submit that to the aggregators.

Next time you submit a video you find it gets indexed and found and ranked really really fast, provided you titled the video a reasonable keyword.

RSS stands for Really Simple Syndication.

RSS is a standard format for syndicating content on the Internet. The content can be anything!

Users can choose which feeds they wish to subscribe to, if at any point they are unhapy with the content contained in the RSS feed they simply unsubscribe and no longer receive feed updates.

RSS feeds are usually signalled by a small orange icon or if you are using Firefox and the website has an RSS feed available an icon will appear in the URL box. You can click the icon to see the contents of the RSS feed.
