RSS feeds and Google question

How often should I update my Google sitemap? I have pages which have RSS feeds from my Blogs. If I change any normal page then I update all 8 types of sitemaps, but the question is, does having a live feed into a page need updating?

I would say anytime you make several page additions, you should recreate the sitemap. I post about 4 articles a week on my blog and recreate/submit my sitemap weekly. There are also tools out there that create sitemaps dynamically for you. Once you have it set up, you do not have to invoke submission manually as google and yahoo will revisit at their leisure. Hope this helps!

You should submit the updated sitemap to the Google webmaster tool. Then only it will easily recognize the pages.

Everybody uses Google, but the new Microsoft, "Bing" also needs notifying, etc. Having the special code from Microsoft and Google for analytics is also important.

But the very basic sitemaps still need to in the root of the main url. The question is, if a feed comes a blog or RSS and updates daily, is my webpage which has the feed, updated as well?
