What are the legal rights and expectations of “fair use” for a blogger that offer content via syndication like RSS? Can anyone just grab your feed and repost it on their web site? What if you find someone using your feed on a web page a claiming ownership?

Dont forget that most RSS feeds are only the first 50- 100 words, and they have to click the link to read the full post.

But as far as claiming ownership, you should have copyright info in the feed itself. I would email them, once, twice and then contact their host.

    Can you provide an example?

In wordpress you can select whether to show a summary or full text.

Thanks for responding. I don't want to post up examples. Its funny, but I can't really find any info on the subject. It might be wise to put an ownership statement in the first sentence.
