Hey, I just put up my own blog like a month ago using Wordpress:
    http://blog.cphosts.com

Well I found this website which had a list FULL of RSS directories so I submitted it to ALL of them...

However, I wanted to know what CSS and XHTML meant because my blog is said to support those formats also..

Can anyone clarify what they are?

CSS stands for cascading style sheets. CSS is really cool. You can design stuff a lot easier by using CSS. They are called cascading style sheets because one change on your .css file will change everything related to the property that you changed. I can't really give you a definition for xhtml.

XHTML = eXtensible Hypertext Markup Language, its just new version HTML with
    more strict rules on tags

they sort of buzzwords to say my site adheres to standards

unfortunately alot of sites claim they adhere to standards but they dont
