    I received an Email last night about something called Rover Ebay. Saying that everyone need to update their links with this new code by Nov 15. Does anyone know what this is about?

    I got the same email -

    I cant say that I really understood it, so if anyone can make sense of it could you please explain the new system and how it will affect us?

    Currently I havent made anything from Ebay so im hoping this new system will change/help that.

    HI !

    According to me.first of all ebay was not happy with the tracking System of CJ.CJ system is not very good.Quality dept. is not very working very fine.

    Because of all they wants things to be in own hands.More over tracking is going to be like google tracking system.That's why they want us to us java script links.

    It will help them to manage in a proper way.if you have more questions , I would like to answer . If have questions which you dont want other to know then PM.

    Rover is a big improvement.. Many ad blockers etc will kill links to adfarm.mediaplex etc. so now the actual domain is rover.ebay.com which is a real and respected URL (well, the ebay.com part is) so we should see more visitors actually being able to get to the item's page on ebay.

    I agree it can be a pain to update all links, however, I wrote one single web service which does all the URL creation for me so I now only have to change the code in one place..

    what I've been reading is that we do not need to change the smartlink ads, only banners and links.

    I've had all my links changed for nearly a week now and I think that overall, the rover links are an improvement over the previous mediaplex ones. There is less redirection for one thing and reporting of sales seems to be faster into cj.
