Average is about 1 in 500. so you need 25,000 hits a day to get 30.00 to 50.00 bucks

Honestly, I've never made a sale through my aStore, not that I really promote it at all. 99.99% of my sales come from my blog and most of the traffic to the posts that have made sales came from Google and StumbleUpon.

It all comes down to what you are promoting and selling.

An unrelated product in an Amazon widget stuffed at the side of your blog is going to have a terrible conversion rate, maybe 0.05% to 0.5% at most.

I have a DVD review blog that gets an 7-8% conversion rate from Amazon clicks, so that's 1 purchase for every 15 clicks or so, and the reason is I drive traffic that is already looking for the product I'm promoting.

I only started taking this amazon affiliate program more seriously in Sep.

So far for September and October, my average CTR is about 5.2%.

Those clicks come from enchanced display (those vertical iframes) and basic display (normal images).

Enhanced displays convert at 11%. All enhanced displays come with write up.
Basic displays convert at less than 1%. Basic displays are just image links to amazons on my upcoming reviews.

    -------------------------------------------------

Here are some tips from a beginner.
    - Know what you like to write about. Be focus, don't write about everything. Concentrate on one theme.
    - Some of the audience already have the desire to buy. Just that they lack certain information. The reason they are on your blog is because they are looking for the information they need in order to make a purchase. If you provide that info together with an affiliate link, you're helping them. It's that info that will make the person click the link. Help your audience understand the product.

A link without context is a useless link. People will click, but they will not buy. I've more people clicking the image links but they convert less than 1%.

Statistically speaking, I just have to do more write up with enhanced display and sales will go up.
