Rough Projections...$1 Million per year

I used to follow up with the proxy hype and a bunch of other web ideas...although I still keep those projects because they mean a lot to me, I started something that I think I can make $1 mil a year in 5 years from now.

Disclaimer: This is not a get rich quick scheme nor am I delusional.

    Here's the business model:
    $40/month subscription
    2000 active subscribers

After 13 months (slight over a year), it comes roughly to be 1 million dollars.

So far I have 7 active subscribers under an older model of $5/month and 4 active subscribers at $40/month. This is the start of week 4 of my project.

With my current projections, I estimate I can get 50-75 subscribers by 6 months. In a year hopefully 100-200 as my marketing budget increases. By year 3 I am out of college and then by year 4 or 5, I can hopefully get 2000 subscribers. I've met someone thats done this--heis now 24 years old and makes 1.2 mil a year so I know it can be done

    Projections of Active Subscribers
    6 month: 50-75
    1 year: 100-200
    2 years: 300-500
    3 years: 700-1000
    4 years: 1200-1500
    5 years: 1500-2000+

It is an online service and the way I am getting customers is by going to the events related to my niche. I have a bit of an advantage because I am located in downtown Los Angeles and have a lot of real life contacts.

I hope my projections will help others see a light of way.

Interesting theory. Maybe you can elaborate a bit more on the concept of your idea? Of course, you don't have to give away the idea, but what makes the service worth $40 per month?

    Best of luck!

Let's put it this way, most of my customers are actually business people I've met and referred to use product/service. Most of my customers are already using similar product/services costing hundreds a month and even that is nothing for my customers.

the trick is to keep all them subscribers active what might get tough, it is always fun to make calculations like this and they often look very doable and realistic, but either prove to be overoptimistic, or people just stop following the model they created.
