Root (/) and Index (/index.php) Question

    Hello All

I used Google's new tool to download all the links to my domain. It lists both the root and index page, even though it's the same page.

(ie: mysite.com/ and mysite.com/index.php are both listed)

Would it be best to 301 redirect index.php to the root, or just leave it be? The odd thing is some of the pages listed that Google says links to the root, actually link to index.php..

    Tim

Yes, you're going to want to 301 that son of a b*tch.

Make sure that all your internal links point to (/) instead of (/index.php) and use a 301 redirect as you described.

Google will list all links to your domain, even if they are actually to a subdirectory or file.
