    Yep, and not only that, neither is an example of big brother. The only entity with the kind of big brother power you're talking about, is the state.

    They control the police, the laws, and the money. They are the ones who can shape opinion, and silence detractors.

    But I do feel for you about Unions. Collectively, people tend to do stupid and evil things. We're in a system, where the only way an individual can prosper is to join a group. A party, a union, a religion, etc. People leverage their ethnicity, age, sexual orientation etc. for personal gain.

    The only way around that is personal liberty. But people seem to think the idea of the rights of the individual, and a state that cannot show favor to groups over individuals is antiquated. So we have the system we have because it's apparently what we want.

    I suppose one could argue that Corporate America actually are the ones in control. They greatly influence government leaders, who then write the laws, that control the people. The unions are supposed to empower the people to be able to stand up to Corporate America. A checks and balance that may or may not work well?

    <edit>

    And then one could argue that it's Organized Crime that controls the unions. So, in the end is it Organized Crime vs Corporate America and the government and people are sandwiched in between. Speaking of a sandwich, I'm hungry...

    Only the nasty corporations that are ran by greedy, stupid, short-sighted, foolish, careless, and/or those that lack compassion for others applies. I don't tend to use a big brush, like certain others here, when painting a picture of a situation.

    It's really not that difficult to see how much personal interests and money can and does influence many political decisions on any side of the isle.

    Maybe someone can find a picture book.

    Oh, I'm blocked! I'll try later.

    :)

    It kind of sounds like that book that came out a couple years ago in which we were all named in relation to the company we worked for. They had a simple online game that was tied to it. It was fascinating!

    its was called "jennifer government"

    you had to take the last name of your employer while you worked for a company, and marketing people would pay kids to tattoo brands and logos on their faces

    Yes! I was trying to remember the name, thanks!

    The funny thing is, people do that on their own already.

    Best part about eve as far as budget goes is that you can pay for your account with in-game currency that you work for, 100% within the rules. They have a time card system sponsored by ccp.

    They're explaining how to set up a new trial account on eve-radio.com right now.
