I hope he keeps his seat. Ron makes a great congress critter.

Of course, I also hope that Ron stops supporting all of those useless pork barrel appropriations which waste American taxpayer funds!

You mean, you hope he keeps voting against unbalanced budgets and earmark appropriations. Got it. :)

Ummm no... Ron Paul has been a very bad Congress critter when it comes to pork barrel projects and earmark appropriations.

His walk hasn't been in line with his talk.

    Will,

It's apparent you feel under threat by Ron Paul's intellect. You are transparent.

I find this incessant campaign of yours in this thread hilarious.

You're a very sick and frightened little man, Will.

He never votes for appropriations or for earmark spending.

I think you have him confused with your House Rep.

I have to agree. It's a classic case of an inferiority complex. I hope Will understands that we love him regardless of how insecure he may be.

Will is obviously misinformed. Just remember buddy, there is a fundamental difference between proposing earmarks, and voting for them.

I'm just curious to know, if anyone here that actually want to see Ron Paul run as a libertian. Honestly it seems like he would have much more of a chance.

Because look Ron Paul has really devoted supported, most of his supporters are basically Ron Paul or no one else. So if he ran for a republican he will get all his supporters basically or majority with him plus some of huckabees and some of clintons or obamas depending on whoever wins.

No. He tried it once and learned from the experience. It is much, much more effective to push the platform within the GOP. He has done magnitudes better than he expected to do when he threw his hat in the ring. There is a lot of good things happening for the long term IMO.

Well, Romney dropped out, and Paul came in second... so if the first place winner is bumped off - doesn't that mean Paul is now in first?

That's the Presidential Preference Poll. I think we had already won based on delegates, but now with Romney, Thompson and Giuliani delegates going to McCain, that remains to be seen.

In related news, the Congressional Campaign for RP has brought in over $240,000 today.

The guy running against RP has been busy with a smear and disinfo campaign, I'd love to see RP win to maintain his seat, but I would also like to see him win because this opponent has invested over $100k of his own money, and that would be a good lesson for him to learn (going broke), if he lost.

Ron Paul scored an embarassing 29% on the congressional RePork Card.

The average Republican score was 43%. The average Democratic score was 2%. This means that Ron Paul is a worse pork barrel spender than the average Republican.

Ron voted against only 12 of 50 pork barrel earkmarks.

Ron's talk doesn't appear to be mirrored in Ron's walk.

Quoting Ron aul's Record on Economic Issues:

"Ron Paul's record contains some very laudable components," said Club for Growth President Pat Toomey. "On taxes, regulation, and political speech, his record is superb. His spending record is impressive, though Paul has recently embraced pork-barrel projects in direct contradiction to his vociferous opposition to unconstitutional appropriations by the federal government."
