The sound of Ron Paul's head exploding

Sometimes I wonder, if people even understand the idea behind a gold or metal backed currency. The only reason Dr. Paul wouldn't like the news has nothing to do with the price of gold, but with the price of the dollar. No one likes to see their currency erode in value.

So... how do we win? Looking at the way it is going, there's some serious issues about how to get more people to vote for Paul - instead of following the crowds. Are people afraid that if they say "I support the Constitution" they'll be mocked and laughed at and pressured into voting for a more "mainstream (ha)" Politician? I mean, one is clearly trying to ride the deaths of nearly 3,000 Americans into the white house, the other is trying to ride Enzyte (the Bob = Mitt joke - you'd have to know the commercial) one flew out of nowhere like a Napalm Attack, and the other makes Bumblebee Tuna sound normal. A dark road for the country is ahead if a Democrat or Republican wins... either way we will lose more of our freedoms.

More wire taps, less health care options, more taxes, less freedom from monitoring, more spending, less income kept, more rich getting richer, more poor dependent on a welfare state, middle class becomes dependent, more children failing in schools, more brainwashing them to be pawns, more wars regardless of party, more intervention, more spending, more spending... It just will not stop.

I think he/the campaign/volunteers have to keep just truckin' on getting his message out to as many people as possible. Getting his name recognition as high as possible. Make him look like a viable alternative. Ride this through February 5 and then assess things from there. To be honest I think winning the Republican nomination will be extremely difficult. Look at the exit polls in NH... over 60% of Republicans think the war in Iraq is A-OK. I'd say the cap of what Paul can get in such a situation is around 30%... But that may be enough to win some primaries and get on a roll. I mean why are Republicans against Iraq voting for anyone but Paul? That doesn't make sense either.

I've read that the Paul campaign hasn't spent much of the money they've raised so far and they are planning a massive national campaign, that they are actually trying a Rudy G. type approach as far as focusing on the high delegate states... we'll see if that comes to fruition.

The good thing for them is that the race is still wide open, I don't think there will be a clear front runner heading into Feb 5.

I think one reason hes not doing to well is not because there aren't enough people, its that some don't care enough to go vote most of the time. These don't mean anything really so why bother. He has a huge young audience that is use to voting with there cell phones for stuff like american idol. I think they should have an option to vote via cell phone and see how that works.

On the other hand I think hes also not getting enough news coverage and i think that he is right in sueing some of the major news corps like fox news. The way they treat him is honestly sick. Its like "hey we got ron paul here, hes running for the presidency of this great country and we initially invited him here to talk about foreign policy but now were gonna ask ron paul how rainbows are formed and if he believes mike huckabee is a great person to lead this country".

its like wtf. makes me wanna climb through my TV and slap the shit out of some of those tools.

I can sum it up. Most Americans are lazy!!! Since their actions are speaking volumes and sponsoring candidates that support big government and socialist/communist/fascist ideas, they want the government to handle every aspect of their lives. Tired of people repeating the same mistakes and electing the same bunch over and over. Our very future rides on this next election.

I think the campaign has done a poor job of packaging/targeting the message(s). Too much focus on sensational goals and not enough on his actual transition plans.

A lot of Ron Paul supporters seem to have blinders on that many people have legitimate reservations (or objections) to some of Ron Paul's platform.

First, I need to get something out of the way:

    I am NOT Elvis.

Secondly, I was not in any way shape or form taking away from the Paul support, I was asking how to increase support and bring his message to more people - and get the lazy folk off the couch to go and vote.

Jackuul, how much work are you willing to do?

The campaign needs Precinct Captains badly. This is real, measurable and effective campaigning, much moreso than running an advertisement or spreading via the web.

Let me know. I've got dozens of ways you can help out, big, small and otherwise.

Well so far I have converted about... 9 people - not including friends and family. I am moving this month, and will be sorely pressed for time, but I do engage people in conversation, point out things to do with Paul, and spread the word. If I wasn't moving I'd be able to do more - but I do what I can, despite the strange looks I get when I yell out "PAUL!". I had one person ask me if I meant Paul from the bible, and of course hilarity ensues...

What state are you in, what state are you moving to?

Make sure you are registered to vote, and know your state's process. Also, make sure if you are moving, that you can complete an absentee ballot if you don't meet the residency requirements to vote in your new locale.

Finally, converting people is great, but make sure they show up to vote. They must be registered to vote, and in several states registered (R). They also need to know what day to vote, and if possible, track them down so you can remind them a day in advance.

Many people don't vote, because no one asks them to.

As far as spreading the ideology, it's always best to find out what individual's issue concerns are, and then address them from RP's platform. It helps to have a fairly solid grasp on where he is coming from, and how his platform positions interconnect, because they are not a disparate group of statements, but part of one consistent political view.

From Nebraska to Colorado, Already have been a registered Republican after Omaha informed me a few months ago that "The Libertarian Party is no longer recognized by Douglass County". The moment I am in state there I plan to get my ID and also register to vote, and such - however the deadline was three days ago there while the primary here is in May on the 13th. I don't usually see the people I randomly meet again because I am a freak when it comes to personal security and information, but I tell them when it is and to go to ronpaul2008.com for his full political views, and I also tell them to register (R).

I'm not going to hold anyone's hand to the ballot box after telling them everything and that they can make a difference with their vote, because I kind of have the cynical view that if they don't want to help themselves then if we get a bad apple again - it's their own ******* fault and they have no right to complain later. Kind of like if someone is told "Stop smoking, it is bad for you" and they keep smoking and say "I gotta die sometime". I have no sympathy if they get cancer - because like they said, they gotta die sometime.

Ok, well hopefully you can vote absentee from Colorado back to Nebraska. Colorado has a lot of kickass MeetUp groups, you might want to check them out.

And I am with you on the personal privacy deal.

Fox News din't have an after interview with Ron Paul? Is Ron Paul standing up to them like obama or are they being biased again? I noticed there little "panel" once again said ron paul din't win the debate yet america thinks he did with 32% of the text votes... Damn fox news if you stay on this road you might actually dig your own grave.

Insane McCain! He has earned that titled judging by his racist comments and his lunacy. Thanks for the links.
Loved Ron Paul on this debate. He is getting tougher and more passionate. I love it. He owned them!!!
