Reality: A candidate with almost no media coverage beats the most well known candidate in the field by 2.5 to 1. How are you trying to spin this again?

Thus far Ron Paul is ahead of Rudy Giuliani in the real vote department. That's all that should count. I feel confident that New Hampshire is the place where Paul's message will really resound. I think Paul will get some bounce from the 10% showing in Iowa.

Now that Ron Paul only got 10% in actually voting, are we done pretending that Ron Paul has a lot of support?

The only person he beat was Rudy who wasn't even pretending to care about Iowa.

Ross Perot got 19% in a national election. Ron Paul has never gotten even close to that in any national poll.

I don't see the point in supporting Ron Paul who's biggest selling point is getting rid of the IRS when Huckabee wants to do the same thing but without destroying the government and guarenteeing a foreign takeover.

I found it sad that a Ron Paul supporter was arguing for Ron Paul because he believes that we can win over the middle east by exporting our culture.

Hello, stupid, they MURDER people who embrace western culture over there. They murder their own family members in Western countries for taking on Western ideals like say, not wearing a Burqa.

Unfortunatly Huckabee is just as naive. I like Huckabee for wanting to do away with income tax and having a national consumption tax instead. I'd like to see him and McCain run together. It doesn't matter which is going for pres or vp. That's fine that we want to play nice around the world but we need someone who is willing to crack some skulls when needed. Those two together would probably make one good presidential team.

There's that wonderful spin again. Ron Paulbots did tons of advertising for RP. And Ron Paul got plenty of air time. Rudy got half the votes that Paul did and Rudy spent close to $0 on Iowa and certainly wasted no time there. Bloggers refer to Iowans as "children of the corn" and Rudy wanted nothing to do with them.

Rudy is one of the leading candidates in NH. That's where he's been spending all his time and money. Much like McCain who is also a leading contender in NH.

Feeling good about RP beating Rudy in Iowa is like feeling good about beating up a quadriplegic. If RP had beat someone who actually tried in Iowa, then there'd be something to brag about.

Ron Paul's biggest selling point to me is not ending the IRS but bringing home all of the troops simultaneously saving our country a huge amount of money (enabling all of us to save a lot of money on our taxes) and making our country and the world safer. That and his extremely strong stance on civil liberties put him head and shoulders above all other Republican candidates, it's not even close.

As far as Ron Paul's "only" 10% in Iowa (which is still higher than most of the polls showed.) Iowa is not one of Paul's strongest states, it's a very socially conservative state that will not be as open to Paul's message of freedom. Sadly many Americans don't even understand what America is all about. New Hampshire's state motto is "live free or die" and on the 8th the people of New Hampshire will have a chance to prove they live by it. I think NH is where a lot of the Paul supporters have been focusing their energy because of it's history of independence politically.

Likewise using your logic we could say that since Giuliani only got 4% we can stop pretending he has a lot of support.

Exactly. I think it was one of the other threads that Guerilla posted data about appearances. Ron Paul spent less time in Iowa appearances-wise than any other candidate, including Guiliani (29 to 35). Aside from Huckabee, Ron Paul got the most votes per appearance. Ron did not put a lot of focus on Iowa, didn't even concentrate on Iowa until August, and still kept close to 3rd place, and battered the frontrunner. You can't spin that. It wasn't what I wanted, but it certainly wasn't terrible.

I don't know if you posted this or not guerilla but myspace had its online primary votes up, 150,000 people voted and obama came out as the top democrat and Ron Paul won the republican vote with like 36% i think. Who needs Iowa, we have the rest of the country!

Well you can't really go by myspace because Ron Paul has led in so many online polls, he rules the net, but it just hasn't carried over.

I try not to post 'net surveys, polls or results. We all know Paul pwnz the web. It's an echo chamber if I try to promote that.

But yeah, we own MySpace for the GOP.

Everybody should be registered to vote! Register your Mom, Dad, Brother, Sister, Lover, Friends. The more the merrier. The only way we are going to take this country back (Ron Paul voter or not) will be when people actually start paying attention and holding their politicians accountable for their actions.

    GET INVOLVED!
