Excellent endorsement today, from Andrew Sullivan, author of "The Conservative Soul".

I first found Sullivan on the Bill Maher show, and immediately wanted to punch him in the face. He was unbelievably annoying, so much so that he became one of my least favorite regulars on the show, the other being Paul Krugman, the Hillary Clinton man whore.

I like him much better now, a recovering neocon, Andrew's obeying his conscience on this one.

Ron Paul For The Republican Nomination

Read the whole thing, he was deciding between McCain and Paul. It's an interesting post to say the least.

GREAT Ron Paul Interview from WOW FM in Iowa - 12/17/2007

^^^ Great listen, 30 minutes long, Ron takes on a Democrat and a socialist. Might be his best radio interview yet.

Any word on when he will be on the ballot in Alaska? The Republican Party of Alaska claims only Rudy and Mitt have qualified for the ballot so far. I hear that Ron Paul has a lot of support in Alaska (enough to possibly win the state).

Alaska ballot is pending. I believe the MeetUps are working on it.

Kentucky is also in process as are at least another dozen states.

Apparently there were so many petitions for the Virginia ballot, they gave up counting them and just added Dr. Paul! :)

Paul finds new ways to appeal to voters
    http://decaturdaily.com/stories/1737.htm

Good article from Alabama, except for the idiot "political professor", who makes absolutely stupid claims, like that the base won't vote for him in the primaries, when only 6% of the base voted last election in the primaries.

I wonder where they get all of these "political professors" from. The education standards in this country are so low... :(

Basically, each party gets to run their own elections to decide their candidates for the main race. The difference is that primaries take place over several months instead of a single day; some states are as early as January, and I believe some as late as June. The way this changes the race is there is a lot of focus on the traditionally earliest states, New Hampshire and Iowa. Iowa is typically very conservative, whereas New Hampshire is very independent, and this leads to two different indicators of a candidate's strength.

States' elections determine delegates who go to the main Republican/Democrat National Conventions, and they vote there finally for the candidate of choice. Some delegates are forced to vote for who their state chose, while others can pick freely their candidate of choice. This person will go on to the general election. Small third parties also run similar conventions to chose their party candidate.

Right so everyone in ever state gets to vote, but they just kinda go through the list one at a time right? It's a pretty long process I assume.

And what do you mean by some are force to vote for who their state choses and some can freely pick. Like what decides if you can choose or not.

Thanks for the good, educational post. I have to admit I don't really understand the Primary/Caucus part. I am going to try to read these.
