    The Granny Warriors have raised money to fly a Ron Paul Banner over the Nascar event this weekend. They also have a booth setup, handing out balloons and campaign materials.

    Rumors are that Paul is getting close to the most powerful California Republican endorsement possible.

    NBC Nightly News will be covering the Walk for Ron Paul today at Millennium Park in Chicago. They may also cover the national Walk for Ron Paul campaign in other locales such as Los Angeles.

    Ron was on PBS News Hour

    Mike Huckabee was advertising on the Ron Paul Grassroots network, using Google Adsense. The ads have now been filtered out.

    Dr. Paul gave a speech at the Robert A. Taft club Friday evening in NYC, followed by a rally. The speech was covered by NBC and CSPAN, likely to air Saturday.

    I think this guy summed it up best.

    Also, Ron Paul PAC ads have been run from small grassroots donations throughout New Hampshire in the major newspaper, the Union Leader.

    Fund raising is almost complete for Sunday's ad run.

    The campaign has announced it's first media buy as well with the Q3 war chest.

    Needless to say, fund raising is still job #1. We're still a long way behind the first tier of Sleepy Thompson, Rudy 911 and Slick Romney.

    Adam Curry (of MTV and podshow fame) has claimed he will endorse Paul, and raise a "sh1tl0ad of money" for him. All Paul has to do is come on his show to answer some questions. This is an important endorsement if Paul takes advantage of it.

    Also the Robert A. Taft Club Speech from Arlington VA, via CSPAN is slowly getting uploaded to YouTube. It's an hour long, and it's a real primer in conservative and traditional American foreign policy.

    Democrats are leading a charge in Congress to remind everyone in the House that the power of Government lies in the House and the Senate, not with the Executive branch. Of course, they're trying to get Ron Paul to participate in making it bi-partisan. Sadly, some members of the House do not even know what the Article 1 of the Constitution says.

    Now who is the front runner? Mitt and Hunter actually show up to speak, and Paul still wins.

    I like Ron Paul.

    Once we rid the world of our enemies and build a global economy based up free trade, perhaps the United States will be safe enough to turn over to him for 4 years.

    Somehow I don't see Ron living that long. :rolleyes:

    It's hard not to like a guy who stands up for rule of law, economic and personal freedom, and doesn't have a history of being in bed with lobbyists.

    Unless we get out of NAFTA, CAFTA, the WTO, the UN Americans will decreasingly have a say in their place in the global economy. We can't create strength by deferring control.

    There are a lot of the young "old school" conservatives coming up the ranks. The Governor of South Carolina. Congressman Jeff Fraze. This isn't about Paul, it's about reform by peaceful and democratic revolution.

    But right now, Paul has the clean character, and record of integrity that gives us a chance to reform the system. Everyone worried about enemies, seems to have forgotten pre-9/11 America. We stood up to communism, and the 40,000 nukes the Russians had, and we ran them out of money, because militarization eventually bankrupts an economy. History bears this out. It's a warning for us as we continue on the ideological path of the Marxists. War is not prosperity, and most wars either end in genocide or diplomacy anyways.

    How did we avert the Cuban Missle Crisis? Diplomacy. How did we collapse the Great Wall? Diplomacy and trade. How do we avoid conflict with the Chinese? Diplomacy and trade. This is Paul's foreign policy.

    This is a new war and a new type of war, and old Ron Paul clearly does not understand that.

    The Russians had one capital and they didn't want to see it vaporized. The current enemy has over forty different capitals and they are not at all impressed by the prospect of losing all of them.

    As such, while the Russians were motivated not to attack us, the current enemy has no such motivations.

    Both the Russians and the current enemy seek to dominate the globe with their fascist philosophy. Neither of these philosophies is compatible with the values of Americas founders.

    Barry Goldwater is a much better model than Ron Paul for achieving victory and peace. Have you read The Conscience of a Conservative lately? Barry was the architect of Ronald Reagan's successful campaign against the Soviet Empire. To get an idea of how Barry would handle our current problems, read Barry Goldwater on Islamic Terrorism.

    Right, that is why we are fighting it with ground troops and air attacks. Paul totally understands it. He's the one who asked Congress to authorize mercenaries such as we used against the Barbary Pirates to chase Bin Laden and Al Queda down wherever they are on the globe.

    Ever heard of the Warsaw Pact? It was the free world against the Communists. China, North Vietnam, North Korea, Poland, East Germany etc. It was truly a two sided global ideological and political conflict.

    The founders also espoused trade with all, alliances with none. They also believed that liberty cannot be sacrificed for security.

    That's interesting, because UROC, the largest group of Goldwater conservatives endorsed Ron Paul for President months ago. Let's not forget, the article you are quoting has just substituted Communism for Islamic Fascism. Islamic Fascism is a global ideology, not necessarily specific nation states. They have no organized army, they have no organized navy or air force. To the best of our knowledge, they do not have nuclear weapons, and they do not have a capital city.

    I'm going to try to keep this thread on track with Ron Paul updates, but I would be happy to debate his positions elsewhere on the forum with you.

    • What if you were 'fooled' by powerful propaganda to believe both threats are more important than living in a free America??
    ~~~~~~~~~
    The traditional conservative policy is free trade with other nations.
    * Terrorism has never been a modern problem in Switzerland, and they have not been in a war since 1815
    * The Swiss have a neutral policy in all military conflicts.
    * They use their military to defend themselves, and...
    * Terrorists leave them alone
    These facts build a solid 'stance' for peace and prosperity through free trade and limited central government. :)
    Awesome work, thank you.
    • The PBS interview (with Judy Woodruff) is way above average in fairness, depth, and quality.
    • Ron Paul is an honest, humble, brilliant man.
    There was a video of a Private Evening event in NYC I was going to post, but the YouTube videos have been marked private because it contained some campaign strategic information that is not meant to be disseminated publicly yet.
    It's too bad because you really got a look at what a humble and genuine man Ron Paul is.
    One of the messages from the video was that 2 things matter at this point. Fund Raising and activism towards the MSM. Letter writing, phone calling etc. Don't get discouraged by the phone polls, they are only of likely Republicans, not independents, libertarians, new republicans, people with cell phones, democrats crossing over (lots) etc. Among moderates and African Americans, Paul is polling as well if not better than most of the front runners. He's the most popular GOP candidate on college campuses and the youth vote has been steadily growing, so it is now becoming a factor.
    But stay active, donate/march/inform if you can. This is a real opportunity to turn Washington on it's ear and send the bureaucrats scurrying for dark corners to hide in. If we don't win, it won't be because Paul failed. It will be because we didn't try hard enough.
    Expect a busy media day tomorrow for Paul, I will endeavor to provide as many updates as possible.
    Meanwhile, I'll leave you these two gems to watch on a slow Sunday.
    http://splat.chowda.net/fundraiser/
    This site has a whole crapload of graphs taken directly from the Ron Paul 2008 campaign site's data. It also has an algorithm calculating likely finish for the month, and for the quarter. Right now it's projecting >$6M at current donation rates for the 4th quarter. The formula is a least squares regression I believe, and that doesn't even take into account the surge we see at the end of every quarter. So things are already looking good again, and heading towards his goal of $12M this quarter!
    I've seen photos and read a report after the event. I'll file a major update at the end of today to this thread.
    Not yet. But there are a lot of private and public endorsements in the pipeline. As I know something, I'll be sure to share it. :)
