Romney has secured his place in a Republican run Govt (if they win) or a Democratic one ( as a possible treasurer of sorts) as well as a future presidential run. Strategically it was good for him in the long term. Wise move really. It would've been interesting to see him compete against Clinton or Obama. I think McCain will be the downfall of the Republican party in this election.
