Roleplay Adventures is an online community dedicated primarily to text-based roleplaying. We have a wide variety of roleplays, covering just about every genre, and new and original ones keep popping up all the time. In addition to the great variety of themes, we allow a lot of freedom in roleplaying: here you think your way, you write your way, you play your way. We won't tell you what to post. We have some experienced and talented roleplayers who will present a good challenge to those of you who are as experienced and talented as them, and we've got a tutorial section full of tips and tricks so less experienced roleplayers can become better and learn; however, we'd like to stress that we're not an elitist forum in the least bit and even our most experienced writers enjoy roleplaying with relatively new writers. In addition to roleplaying, we have sections for other things, such as the news & current events forum, where we talk about the latest and hottest news, be it political, scientific, humanistic, legal or otherwise in nature; the serious discussion forum, with interesting and sometimes controversial topics about life, the universe and everything; the entertainment forum, home to conversations, discussions, reviews and recommendations about videogames, films, books, music and more; the creativity forum, where all those of you who are talented in one form of art or another can post your creations and get reviewed by others; and the downtown forum, which is the relaxed section of our forum and is full of forum games and easy, non-serious threads for when you just want to hang out. Speaking of hanging out, we're sure you'll enjoy hanging out with our members in all sections of Roleplay Adventures because our community is the perfect combination of a tightly-knit family with a friendly society open to newcomers; we're not so isolated and cold that you'll feel lonely and lost, and at the same time we're not so tightly threaded that you'll find it impossible to become accepted. Most people who join make friends and get involved in more than one conversation and/or roleplay very soon after having introduced themselves. Roleplay Adventures is a relaxed community where you won't get yelled at for making a mistake or two. We all start as newbies, and our forum is populated by very understanding people. Here you can enjoy a great amount of freedom while not being closely monitored by the staff. However, we do have rules we expect everyone to follow. In addition to that, we've posted some guidelines which will help you get around in the beginning. And if you have any questions about anything or even suggestions to improve the forum you're welcome to pm the staff and/or start a thread in the questions & suggestions forum; we're pretty open to suggestions from our members. As long as you follow the rules, you may start threads freely and without worrying about getting yelled at. Our staff is quite understanding and not overly strict, and we do not usually delete threads. Old threads and dead roleplays are moved to the recycle box to keep the forums clean, but if asked to leave a thread where it is and given a good reason we will always be happy to comply. We only ban people as a last resort, and if you do something wrong we will always inform you and let you fix it before we go about punishing you. We believe in a happy and carefree place where the members aren't permanently scared they'll get banned. At Roleplay Adventures we care about our members more than anything else. This is why we have a monthly newsletter with reviews, interviews, suggestions, jokes, riddles and a lot of other fun articles. Both the editor and the graphic designer are hardworking, responsible and creative people, and we accept articles from anyone, so if you wish to contribute with an article or three you're more than welcome to do so. We also have a blog to keep you updated on the latest stuff related to our forum. All seven members of our staff are aware that any successful community is based on the happiness of its members. The staff is important to keep trouble at bay and bring about updates and new features, but the members are even more important because they are the heart and soul of the community. A forum with seven members would be extremely boring; therefore, we want to make sure you feel perfectly at home. Because we care about you, we regularly run contests and competitions in which you can win forum prizes and sometimes other surprises as well. Roleplay Adventures is about its members. Any sort of critique or opinion would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance for reading this and reviewing our community.
