I have an eCommerce site selling thousands of parts. We are using the Google Product Listing ads. Is there a way for me to get ROI by sending my cost data per product to google? How do most companies find there ROI? Am I making this overly complicated? Thanks for any help! Chris Edwards
you are not making it complicated but for a general not so adword-familer person it is complicated. You can setup Google Adwords conversion tracking and that way whenever a user makes a purchase on your site, the detailed (Including the product price) will be sent back to adword system which will tell you exactly which click (Keyword /ad/etc) generated that sale as well how much you made out of how much spent on Adwords. this is a must have setup even for a normal account, for eCommerce i wonder how you are even running the account without using conversion tracking. here is their help page to help you out .. Setting up conversion tracking
The answer of this question is quite complicated. It highly depends from the business, goods or services you are selling at all. On one of the companies, which I created Adwords campaign, the ROI is really unstable, as the goods sold there and comission are really large and expensive. In any case the adwords are giving success in sales and can give a start of your business in a few hours.
