I think Andy Roddick will never be able to fight back from the Wimbledon loss....consider this - he has won 1 GS and lost 5.......A sportsman born in the Era when Tennis is just a play for No.2
Roddick always loses because all he has is his serve. His server is #1, but his groundstrokes are maybe top 25.
Yes you are spot on it. He has best serve and no one can beat his accuracy and speed but he also need to learn some basic things! If he continue playing like this and then who knows next year he won Wimbledon.
Pfft. Roddick was unlucky not to win this year's wimbledon and federer reclaimed the number 1 spot because nadal had to pull out of the tournament. Federer is a legend but he is not unbeatable. Did you actually watch him play this wimbledon? His groundstrokes (especially backhand down the line) and volleying has greatly improved. You don't beat the likes of Hewitt and Murray if all you have is a big serve. Hewitt is one of the best returners in the game.
Yup but Roddick show indication for US Open and he can able to win US Open. I think this was his best tennis and he improved lots to compare last few years!
I don't think Roddick would be great in any era, but pretty good in most. He has nothing to be ashamed about.
