We've had a few threads earlier this year about the upcoming and final Rocky (6) dubbed "Rocky Balboa." Ladies and Gentlemen, the time has come! http://www.hollywoodreporter.com/hr/film/reviews/article_display.jsp?&rid=8554 The movie debuts Wednesday, December 20th (this coming week)!
I hear ya! Initially, it was the 25th, then it was the 22nd a few weeks ago, and this past week, it's been advertising as the 20th (here in Texas). I've been driving my wife nuts with the opening date changes. Earlier this year, when the date was still set for the 25th, she asked what I wanted for Christmas. I replied "to stay at home for once and have others come to us, and tickets for Rocky!" Man, it's been a long wait!
lol, I thought he was making a joke - talking about the 22nd installment of the series not the release date
I think it's a little silly to be honest. The guy's old enough, he turned in his gloves a long time ago I don't think I'll be paying to see this one
I haven't even seen the first one. I want to see this one though. Milo Ventimiglia is in it. Rocky Jr.<3
The move was great! I knew it would be! It opened today. My wife got off an hour early so we could see an early showing. We caught the third showing of release day. In the traditional Rocky "spirit," the movie was inspirational and ran with the theme of "good vs. evil." For modern movie goers who are used to more million dollar explosions and special effects, it may seem a bit slow at first. It sort of catches up on what's happened over the years with some flashbacks. The movie begins to crescendo around the middle and things pick up. It also focuses quite a bit on Rock's love for his deceased wife, Adrian. This is evident throughout the movie. The theme for Rock is centered around his age. Obviously at 60, he's past his prime. But as my wife noted during the movie "at 60, he's still a stud!" He has this burning desire for one more go 'round, one more attempt to do something big in his life. It feeds a lot of this desire. Overall, if you are Rocky fan, you'll love the movie! It draws a lot from the past and focuses on a man whose worked hard in life for everything he has and when life presents that "one more shot," he works hard for it and claims it. Hope you all enjoy the movie as much as we did!
What's the line on the fight in Rocky Balboa? Does Rocky triumph -- Sly's interviews suggests he thinks that would be too dumb for words. Does Rocky get thumped? I don't think so . . . baby boomers cannot admit they are aging. A tie? Like Rocky? Hollywood Reports does say Rocky Balboa "defies all expectations with a low-key, technically stripped-down production that really does come close to capturing the heart and soul of the original" My money is on a 2-1 split decision against Rocky, but with everyone saying, " . . . one more upper cut and he wudda won. He wudda won."
This better be good, because as far as I concerned Rocky V doesn't exist, and if this one sucks just as bad, I don't know if I can deny the existence of TWO Rocky movies -- someone might catch on!
Well, I just finished watching it, and like a lot of people was amp'd to see it. I personally feel shorted. It was just lacking something. It was a below avg. movie imho. gotta love when MGM DVD screeners get ripped hahahaha OK, time to go watch invincible
