Yes you can if you have purchased it, If not then its not legal even if you remove it or not, cause you have no rights to use the template.

He doesn't know what he's talking about.

Look at the license. More than likely you can not. You may not even be able to edit the template.....

If the license allows you to then yes you may, but, more than likely you have to keep it there even if you edit it. Contact the original creator. Barring that, you can do the copyright notice required and then add edited by: name here.

Just because you paid for something does not give you copyright rights. You must have purchased them. Usually you purchase a license to USE the product.

It says it there plain as day, you can't remove it from the XML descriptor file, but you can remove it from the footer.

actually if you look at the template...

there is only a link to their site and after a mile below that :© Copyright 2009, All Rights Reserved

I'm only interested in removing their link.
what is the XML descriptor file ?

or atleast can I make that link unclickable...instead of the Live links?

    Do the following :
Once your in your admin panel go to 'extensions/template manager'.
Then select(click) on your current theme.
On the right side, under Parameters you should see something like 'Show RocketTheme Logo', select no. Save settings and you're done.
