I am trying to optimize my robots.txt file and have a few questions about my site. I have a blog and I've found that Google is indexing the content differently. Instead of indexing entries individually, it's indexing the archives by month. http://www.ogden2k.net/2006/07/ instead of http://www.ogden2k.net/2006/07/31/kayaking-in-kokadjo/ Is it possible to block indexing for 2006/07 but have it index 2006/07/everything-else-in-folder ?
This isn't a robots issue as much as other issues - why would the serps report the latter URL? The content is all contained in the first URL AND you have more internal links pointing to the first URL. You've already taken the action of telling the search engines that the monthly page is more important than the article pages. To answer your question simply - the answer is no.
