So I have my own desing portfolio at funkyfreshmedia.com its basically a showcase of my work and what I offer.

My question is if I dont have <a> tags around the address of the websites I did work for, would it still link to them since they are on my site? and would it lessen my PR rank due to that?

Also I read about robots.txt but how can I use them if I dont need anything to be restricted since its just a portfolio?

    thanks

Based on my understand the robots would only view hyperlinks and then anchor text. I don't think it would naturally read it as a hyperlink since it is reading straight HTML.

If you don't want the robots to give that link credit and have it actually linked, you might consider just making them nofollow.
