I just downloaded the robots meta plug in but am a little confused on it. All the nofollow, index, index nofollow stuff has always gotten me a little mixed up. I want links that are in my posts to get followed if they are to other pages on my site and those pages to also get indexed. I am not sure if I want or need my about page indexed and I don't want pages like privacy policy or terms of service indexed or followed. I am not sure if I want or need my site map indexed. I don't know if I should follow or index categories, feeds or set them as nofollow no index for this plug in or any other SEO plug in I have. Does anyone know of a resource that explains all of this? Free is good or a small payment. I know this is an important part of SEO for getting link juice going to the right places but am having a hard time getting a handle on it. Follow but no index I don't really know why I would want to do this or index nofollow, I think I get this one but some of these options I don't quite understand why I would need to use. IMJim
Please note the same: 1. ROBOTS = INDEX, FOLLOW = This will index your page and Google will consider backlinks from this page. 2. ROBOTS = INDEX, NOFOLLOW = This will index your page and Google won't consider backlinks from this page. 3. ROBOTS = NOINDEX, NOFOLLOW = This page won't be indexed at all. also, Google won't consider backlinks from this page.
