Dear Dp, I have recently creating my first "word press" blog after using blogger for many years. Cut a long story short, for some reason google webmaster has located a robot.txt file for my domain url yet I definitely never added one to my site. Questions 1, how did it get there? Question 2, Where are they stored and how to delete it? (I use filezilla so maybe that's the best way?) I look forward to your answers, no rubbish please just answer if you actually know. Naturally the first person who provides me a quality useful answer will definitely receive my rep point as they will certainly deserve it... If you need it, the url is http://www.bettersounds.org
It's here > http://www.bettersounds.org/robots.txt Either delete it if you don't want it or edit it Here is one of mine http://wiley-web-workhorse.com/robots.txt
Thanks for the swift response. If I delete that will it effect my site map? Was it generated using that XML Sitemap plugging for wordpress for the sitemap? Sorry for all the questions
Sounds like it was christoph As it presently reads to disallow your sitemap then editing it or deleting it will mean your sitemap gets crawled There is some info from WordPress (about half way down the page) on robots.txt pages here > http://codex.wordpress.org/Search_Engine_Optimization_for_WordPress
Brillaint, I have every answer I need. Thank you very much for your help. I wish I could give you a x5 Feeback but I guess 1 notch will have to do, hehe. Regards
