Risk of Dup Content Penalty?

My site, www.japanese-name-translation.com, translates visitors' names into Japanese. They enter their names in the main interface on the index.html page. On pressing "GO", they are taken to the index.asp page, which displays their katakana name.

Now, the index.asp page that displays the output, and the index.html page, which is the main homepage, look almost identical for a seamless user experience. However, is there a danger that the index.asp will be taken to be dup content and be penalized?

(Unfortunately, office politics and management stinginess prevent all the content being hosted on the same server, which would solve this problem.)

    What do people think?

    Thanks!

Google will simply filter one of the pages. What ever page has the backlinks pointing to it will survive.

Is it definitely determined by # of links? I would think cache date would come into play.

Right now, both the main domain page (index.html) and the www2 subdomain index.asp page are displaying in the G SERPs, although the index.html page has more backlinks, I'm sure.

The index will then be the survivor. Links are what matter, period.
