    Ripping wordpress themes has become a new trend!
    It should be prohibited

    I found an "advice" in a wp theme site : http://www.themes-wp.com/upload.php

    Download themes and do some work & upload to get many backlinks

    I think a theme is the outcome of a great effort of a designer.
    So Ripping is very bad.

    Is anyone have the opinion, CSS of free themes can be copied & resold only changing the graphics?

    One could probably rip the code of any theme if they wanted.

    Yes ripping means to copy the theme/code and using it on a new site with a new name. All this without the prior consent of the designer.

    He'll take you into legalities and act upon you. You will have to pull the site down enforced by the DC.

    You should display the copyright information that could somewhat protect the right of original creator. However in the crowd of tons of WP free theme it would be really difficult to find who is the original creator. :)

    Nothing illigal if you change all graphics and even adapt the CSS code... Just a big save of time to the re-creator.
